Polish Mineral Engineering Society (POTOPK) was established for:

1. Gatherings of members around problems and tasks being ahead of mineral processing
2. Inspirations of projects having purpose of beneficiation of mineral, secondary and waste materials, developing technology and technique as well environmental protection
3. Forming opinion, performing evaluations and speaking of mineral processing
4. Spreading experiences and achievements in mineral processing and related problems of minerals extraction and application
5. Organization of training system and raising qualifications of technical personnel
6. Popularizing national and international mineral conferences and congresses as well other events concerning mineral processing problems
7. Organizing cultural and social activities and inspiring creation of new friendly relationships among members
