Abstract

This paper describes the relationship between the employee and the organisational culture in a company. It places particular focus
on the characteristics of today’s employees, resulting from the typology of current working generations and highlights the characteristic
features of baby boomers, Generation X, and Generation Y. The practical part of this paper characterises employees and
HR policies of two groups operating in the mining industry – Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa SA and Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka SA.
