Coal is a macromolecular compound. At high temperatures, by coal pyrogenesis, coke and volatile products will result.
The volatile products from coal form the coke gas and coke tar from which a very large number of aromatic compounds can be extracted.
The aromatic compounds extracted from domestic and foreign coal tar were compared in this paper, together with their effects over
the human and animal health.
